My wish for you this Christmas:
May everyone share
a simple
wonderment
of that light
which set the stage
for shooting stars
and miracles
and the birth
of precious babes
Walk in peace
and think of this
on every
Magical Night

simply simple!! 🙂
you took an almost cliche topic and managed to turn it round so that it’s yours.
I admire that.
my wish is ‘a simple/wonderment/of that light’ will chart our paths that we’ll connect literary.
Keep up and thanks for the piece

Hi Jingle!! Thanks so much for your invite. I just got back from a trip to Kurdistan in Iraq, bringing home animals that US soldiers had befriended while fighting the war and had to leave behind when they redeployed. I brought home a dog, a cat, and a 14 week old puppy with a deformed leg. I was invited to go there by Terri Crisp, of SPCA International, whose book, “No Buddy Left Behind” about Operation Baghdad Pups we co-authored together, and it will be for sale in the bookstores in October. My trip to Iraq was her gift to me – wow. Never in the world did I ever imagine going there of all places!! Anyway, I hope to make an entry in Brokenpenwriter soon. The past four months have been all about writing this book; now I’m hoping to get back to writing some poetry again. Lots of stuff from Kurdistan will inspire me. Thanks so much for your continued encouragement and not forgetting me. XOXOXO to you too.
magical indeed.

Thanks Jingle! I’m engrossed in book-writing work again, so maybe I’ll make a link to an older post – a good summer poem, since baseball season is upon us.
