Mighty hue of Attitude
stands entitled
in your face
claims it’s place
child of passion-red
bled into yellow
mid-day sun
falling
Last chance to dance
it plays on rain-soaked branches
autumn
on it’s back
leaves laid to rest
on black
but
like a snore
you can’t ignore
in the dark of night
it goes down
loud and proud
shouting
ORANGE
Entered into One Single Impression
Love the pause that your ‘Orange’ creates as I take a moment to visit here…. lovely.
Hi Reflections. I’ve been passing by that tree every day for a week and finally caught it with my camera yesterday. How many autumns have I walked past, noticed the orange and neglected to pause long enough to capture it? Today I feel that if nothing else was accomplished, at least I appreciated ORANGE. Thank you for appreciating it with me!
That is the perfect description of orange. It is a proud color. Can’t be overlooked or ignored. And you wrote it beautifully.
Thanks, Talon. As always, its lovely to see you here.
What a triumphant and beautiful poem…I enjoyed the imagery.
Triumphant – I like that word. Thank you!
So nice! I love how you go through all the colors before landing on orange!
Mine is here. http://razzamadazzle.wordpress.com/2010/11/06/between-the-breaths/
Thanks Teresa. Since orange isn’t one of the primary colors, it needs some mixing to get there – hence the journey through red, yellow and gold. Thanks for visiting.
I always wait for them..the summer treat from nature.. very tasty.. thanks..you made me feel the taste.. !
Thank you, Ramesh. Always, it’s good to share that which feeds our senses and soul. I visited your blog – loved what I read – added your site to my blog roll.

Orange and loud, never gonna get lost in a crowd!
Alas all of our orange is down here in NH 😦
Hi Rene,
I remember well, every year on my birthday (in October) we use to climb Mt Monadnock to see the colors because you guys had them up there while Connecticut was still mostly green. Our color came the following month. Alas, maybe you’ll have snow for thanksgiving… horse and sleigh to Grandma’s house kind of thanksgiving….
Thanks for visiting!
My very favorite color, Cindy. Thanks for this lovely reminder of its strength and zest. peace, Sue

Thank you Jingle for your kind words. I’m writing a book to a publisher’s mid-Jan deadline now, so unfortunately have no time to write on my blog. As soon as this manuscript is submitted, I’ll come back to play with you guys again. I promise. 🙂
